Cheap TV Stands For LCD TVs Intro
After having been gifted or spend a lot of money on a fantastic new TV, most owners will be hard pressed to invest more money on an expensive flat screen TV stand. Thankfully, there are a great number of quality, bargain mount designs that will seem suspiciously cheap but do exactly what you need them to do.
In this article I will list my favorite deals, along with briefly reviewing why I think they worthy of praise. The most important factors, to me, are price, quality (longevity, materials and durability) and features (tilting, swiveling and customization). I have also based my selections not simply on my own impressions, but from a healthy source of customer feedback and review.
Cheetah Mounts APTMM2B
I'm going to start with what I consider as of this moment (21 October 2010) the best bargain available for larger flat screen TVs. What makes this a perfect entry for an article called "cheap TV stands for LCD TVs" is the fact that the quality to price ratio is simply unbeatable. But how much quality can you realistically cram into $20?
For starters, this thing is slim -- the distance from the wall to the back of the display is less than 2 inches. The structure provides a solid 15 degree (downward) range of tilt, making it quite flexible. Installation is surprisingly easy and its 8LBS of 100% High Grade Steel frame provides a strong support for LCD TVs that are up to 55 inches wide.
This model conforms to VESA hole patterns up to 55 inches across and some non-conforming hole patterns as well. Nevertheless, if you know you have an irregular hole pattern , you would do well to double check.
Customer feedback is uniformly positive (4.5 stars out of 5 out of over 350 reviews on Amazon), and it seems that most people where surprised that with $25 including shipping, you can find a snazzy, low-cost permanent home for your new TV.

VideoSecu Articulating TV Wall Mount
This VideoSecu model offers an entirely different aesthetic approach which may some readers may prefer. Possible the greatest advantage is its about to fold and swivel (up to 180 degrees!) making it more flexible than the Cheetah mount. The major drawback is that it only supports small to medium sized screens, but then again if your screen is less than 27" (or less than 33 pounds) it isn't really a drawback at all.
This model seems perfect for office or personal computing scenarios rather than a home theater environment. Its jet-black hardware frame is sleek and mimics most contemporary flat screen designs. It is also heralded as one of the best options among corner TV stands for flat screen TVs.
Installation is reported as overwhelmingly easy, with some users claiming that it took all of 5 minutes to set it up correctly on a 32 pound TV (bear in mind the maximum is 33).
This is my recommendation for small-to-medium TVs that make require frequent adjustment. Similar to the previous Cheetah review, you simply will not find more bang for the buck. If you can, feel free to let me know on the comments section below!
As with my other reviews this model is fully VESA compliant!
Walker Edison Regal 4-in-1
For those who are looking to crown their new TV with an elegant all-in-one solution, the Edison Regal promises to do the job better than anyone else. It really should be considered as far more than just a flatscreen TV stand.
This 42 inch stand boasts a great deal of versatility. You can place a 52 inch (150 pound) TV on its wall mount, or opt to place it directly on the stand (42 inches, 250 pounds), or mix it up now and then as you see fit. The wall mount offers some need-to-have features such as left and right swiveling and a 15 degree downward tilting.
The great advantage is obviously the multi-purpose nature of the design, and the strength and solidity of its structure. Three storage shelves, 4 display options, its elegant finish and resilient metalwork, safety glass and much more. The obvious downside to all this goodness is obviously the price, but if you've shelled out a great deal for a new TV, this should be a figurative drop-in-the-bucket.
For those who are worried...
